I don't have the ego, the testosterone, or the leg length, but I would take the pay cut in a heartbeat to be a motor officer.

Can't speak to the ego, and you seemed to have adequate testosterone when I met you.

However - if your feet reach the pedals, isn't that leg length enough?

These guys generate unbelievable amounts of testosterone.

They all seem to have 36+ inch inseams. Part of it is the honor guard appearance aspect, but long legs are a real asset when riding--especially in unusual conditions in which motor cops spend a lot of time.
EDIT: I forgot one of the most important aspects, which relates to unusual conditions. These bikes are over 800 lbs and have no reverse assist. Leg strength and leverage are all they have to back them up.
My LT is about the same weight and has an electric reverse which has helped me out of many spots I couldn't push out of by myself.

In another set of life circumstances, I could totally see myself as a cop, ideally on two wheels.

I bet you'd rock in a uniform, too.
