My agency has a blood donation day every two months. I have donated every time for several years. One donation failed because the bag didn't fill in the prescribed time--probably due to a bad stick. Otherwise, no problems until today.
My pulse is always elevated during screening because I hate needles, but the first time they tried it was 108! It has to be from 50-100. They left me to sit there for a few minutes, but when they tried again it was 102 so they declared me ineligible for the day. Now I'm trying to figure out why it was so much higher than usual. I've been trying to address some unhealthy things I've been doing lately, mostly related to diet and limited cardio. Apparently, I just got a wake up call.
