Too busy to get my geek on
I wasn't planning to do so yet, but I ended up ordering the latest Blackberry model late Sunday night.  It was fed exed yesterday, so I knew it would pass by my house and back to fed ex this afternoon.  I got home from work as early as I could, grabbed the delivery notice and... realized I couldn't pick it up until 4:30.  So I hung out for an hour, got the phone, brought it home figured out how to open it and put the battery in and left it to charge while I went for my massage appointment.  I arrived on time at 6:00, but I was her only client for the evening and she wanted to chat about an upcoming dance performance of hers that I was planning to attend.  So we started at about 6:25, finished at 8:00 then I had to drive home and walk the dogs.  As I was walking in the door from that, Penny called from Chicago.  We talked until about 10:00.

Long story short (too late!), It is going to charge overnight and I will start dealing with it tomorrow afternoon.  I want to play now, but if I start I know I'll be tweaking it well past midnight.

For whatever reason, my mom wanted a new cell phone. The opportunistic folks at the ATT store sold her a Blackberry. Unacceptable!...for a 70-year old woman who can't see tiny keys and can barely retrieve email on the home computer we bought her years ago. I marched her back to the store, yelled at some people for "taking advantage of an old lady", and exchanged it for a simple non-texting, non-emailing, non-nuthin' flip phone with VERY large buttons. If I could have gotten her out of the two-year contract, she'd own a Jitterbug right now.

My mother has a jitterbug. carry much, talk little, and as old person proof as the technology will allow.

Um... Wha-? Is she happy with the Jitterbug? Does it work well for her. The reviews at cnet.com seemed mixed. People loved or hated it, usually depending on what kind of customer service they got. I got my mom the ATT phone (Pantach?) that those who hated the Jitterbug recommded.

flip phone design, with a cheap plan that doesn't have many minutes on it, and her's has maybe half a dozen buttons total.

Yes, she likes it.

Let us know how you like it. I may upgrade to that eventually if it has enough advantages over the Curve.
