MY PC died more than a week ago from a hard drive failure that would allow it to boot. I bought a new PC on Friday and have been slowly getting it up to speed. For some reason, MS Office isn't accepting a legitimate key, so I haven't got that done yet. My big task of the day is to attempt to retrieve data from the old drive via a SATA/IDE to USB adapter. I had a backup that saved most of my data, but want to save the recent stuff. I'll survive without it, but will be very happy if I can get it.

Not that it does any good now, but I did find my WinXP disk if you need to borrow. Did you end up with Win7 on new machine? I am looking at that or just waiting for Win8 soon. Need to get to 64-bit OS and add the extra 4 GB that is sitting there.

I bought a Windows 7 machine and managed to recover most of my data from the damaged hard drive.

I used that many years ago. I have two reasons for using Office now: it's what I use at work, and because it's what I use at work I can get the whole suite for $20.
