I thought it might lead to tile flooring on the 1st floor of the house, but suddenly it's turned into a search for houses in Pensacola.

We are in the very priliminary stages of figuring out where we want to live now that hellon2wheels is retired. She gets the same amount regardless of where we live, and there are far cheaper places than NoVa. Further reports as events warrant.

I enjoyed Pensacola. Heading back in 3 weeks for another quick holiday with kid, bf, and his dad. I am not sure I would want to live there permanently, at least in the summer tourist season. But Blue Angels most of the year, gorgeous beaches and national wildlife refuges, historic places, nice downtown area...

Exciting. Gulf, Mountains, forrest. Just thinking about the options make me giddy. In my mind Florida = too hot, but to each his own.

I agree with the "Boo" sentiment. I can see a split time sort of arrangement in retirement.

One thing to note about moving--it's tougher to find friends as an adult without the structure of work or school. I suspect that's why so many retirees move into retirement communities--repeated contact builds relationships.
