No .44 this time
I went, I looked, but I wasn't moved. The choices in ascending order of price were:

  1. Charter Arms Bulldog compact revolver in .44 Special

  2. Ruger Blackhawk single action in .44 Magnum

  3. Marlin 1894 lever action carbine in .44 Magnum

  4. S&W 29-8 "Mountain Gun" 4-inch, lightweight in .44 Magnum

  5. The "Dirty Harry" model 29 with 6+ inch barrel

1, 2, and 5 didn't make the first cut for various reasons. 3 and 4 were considered for most of the time I was there, but in the end I just didn't feel it enough to spend $500-$700.

You can't blame Mn-LJf Chris. Not only was he totally on his game as an evil influence, he even offered to pay for part of it as my present. Again, I just wasn't feeling it.

I promise to buy a 1911 of some type next year.

Happy Birthday.

(ps-- You can't blame Chris. Jay called him Friday night to make him part of the plot)

Its ok man...

I picked up for slacker ass!

I got my birthday present. Picked up a tricked out DPMS AR. Its all Warpedpuppy's fault. He told me about it as we caught him on his way out. Will have to take a pic or two. has nice Vltor 6-position stock, EOTech holosight, rail system, flashlight and green laser with vertical foregrip. They threw in a rear sight, a sling and the soft case. Wheeeeeeeeee.

And I was really just thinking about an extra upper and spare parts. :-P

And I was quite sure I did not have enough knives, so I had to get a new Kershaw folder in pretty red and black. That one was all Jay's fault. :-P

good gosh man, can you really DO that? Get a weapon with your age every year for your birthday?

If you try really hard and don't mind getting into some obscure stuff, you could probably get pretty close. .44 and .45 are both major calibers with multiple variants, so these two years are pretty easy.
