Somebody screwed the pooch
Several somebodies, in fact. Whoever said we'd get one to three inches. Whoever opened the county schools on a normal schedule. Whoever opened the federal government on a normal schedule.

I live less than ten miles from my office via surface roads. I was almost halfway there after an hour of trying this morning, so I gave up and came home. The dogs and I had a lovely walk through the park, and soon I will nap. Perhaps I'll do something useful in the afternoon.

One of the benefits of being awake rediculously early today was watching the storm develop and being able to decide that I wasn't going anywhere.
Now like you I'm at home and watching our puppy practice spinouts in his first snow.

It sounds like you're set for the day.

I only tried to go in because my current company has this bizarre "get it all on Jan 1, use it all by Dec 31" approach to leave. Also, they wouldn't negotiate the point so I only get 18 days total PTO this year. I took two days last week to get out of town for the inauguration plus one today and it's still January.

I just ran up to the market and the roads around here don't look like they've been treated - not quite enough to plow but enough that it could get sketchy if people aren't careful.

Being on a Metrobus route, I'm surprised I wasn't awakened by a plow at 5:30 this morning...

Yeh. And you don't even have kids who go to schools which get closed. Good to see you back online.

Back? I've made 12 posts this month, including one with photos from Hilton Head.
