I haven't been posting much lately, though I continue to keep up with my friends page and comment fairly frequently. Life is good but not particularity interesting, ya know?
Summer arrived in the area with a thud yesterday, including the year's first lightning and a two hour power failure.
I tried to do my monthly drive of my friend Karen's car today, only to find one tire was at zero psi. Of course, the car knew this and gave me a waning indicator about the same time I noticed it was a bit rough feeling. The tires are premium, low volume/high performance types, designed to run flat until you get to help. There is no spare. I'm afraid this is going to be expensive because the car is just at 30K miles, and I'm not sure how long tires like that tend to last. a quick look at the others suggest it may be best to replace all four. Ouch. I took it back to it's parking space, told her mom, and sent an email so Karen can decide what to do.
My coworker Stacey took another coworker and me to look at a motorcycle she wanted to buy after work on Friday. She has been in contact with the seller since last fall, when she wanted to buy it but he decided not to sell until he figured out what was causing problems with the motor. He since had the carbs cleaned and contacted her. It is a Suzuki Bandit S with 3K miles. I test rode it for her and it is immaculate. Even the paint looks new. She bought it yesterday and brought it home.
I'm still not sure of the year, but it is at least five years old since the current owner has had it in his garage for the last four, during which he put about 1K on it. It is around a 600CC.
