They can talk about "professionals" and mitigating controls all they want.

Information collected is subject to use, abuse, loss, theft, mission creep, etc., etc. That is not going to change as long as humans are involved.

Saw this yesterday and my BS detector twitched. What is the chance that this is a publicity stunt by the "victim" celebrity?

That is certainly a possibility in this case. However, we have seen it in medical records and travel records, among others, especially in cases involving celebrities. I stand by my statement under any circumstances.

Remember what they used to say at the end of Wild Kingdom? “These scenes, whether actual or created, depict authenticated facts.”

Someone’s images are going to end up on the internet before too long.

It's ridiculous to believe the scanners wouldn't have a print capability. In the event that they actually find something that would lead to criminal prosecution, they'd have to retain copies as evidence.
