New Orleans Police Kill Unarmed Man During Pot Raid
Not too surprising. New Orleans police raid a house for drugs, point guns at children, execute 20 year old unarmed black man. Raid yields 5 ounces of weed and a "handgun" that wasn't near the victim.
Like I said, an outrage, but not too surprising given their reputation. The thing that really ticks me off is that after so many years of corruption, they were either too dumb, or too unconcerned about the potential repercussions to even frame the guy. I would have expected them to gift the deceased with at least an altered-to-full-auto Kalashnikov complete with a slug recovered from the door frame (yes, I know a door frame won't stop a 7.62x39mm; that's part of the charm), maybe some PCP or heroin. If it's just going to be weed, there should have been enough to fill an SUV, not a school lunch milk carton.
"We don't know what happened."
Which is worse, that they couldn't organize a proper frame, or that they couldn't be bothered to do so?
Also, if you don't follow the Reason feed, there's some interesting stuff there, though they do go a little overboard with the number of posts at times.
